I came as a volunteer and ended being a member of envirokids. Being with the kids and teaching them playfully about the environment and importance of trees is giving so much back!
I felt like having a real impact.
Amani is guiding you around and connects you to his network. So I was like living with them. Since this is close to the university I was surrounded by inspiring young people sharing their culture and livestyle with me.
Just loved it!
Best part of the program: I was able to develop my own little project which was adopted to the NGOs curriculum plan 💚
What was your funniest moment?
Did you know that there this club, Bundesliga lounge, in Mwanza town? I had the best party there and easily connected to the people by football.

- Well organised and never boring
- Close to the kids and culture for real impact on both sides
Cons
- You are the one steering your success, not a program for those expecting a strict plan
- Mwanza is still rural, do not expect a all-inclusive luxury like program
- Would recommend for rather young people like students and gap years
