Fauna Forever
Why choose Fauna Forever?
Fauna Forever is a non-profit organisation based in Peru that offers volunteer and intern opportunities on long-running projects focused on wildlife research, medicinal plants, nature photography, native community development, environmental education, and wild animal rescue and rehabilitation. Our longest running project dates to 1997, and all volunteers and interns receive training, mentoring, and supervision during their time with us.
Our wildlife research volunteers (2-3 weeks) and interns (1-4 months) assist us with mammal, bird, amphibian, reptile, insect, and flowering plant surveys at one or more of up to 60 field sites that we have been studying for nearly two decades.
Most of our projects are based in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest (around Puerto Maldonado, Tambopata, Las Piedras, and Manu), with the rest located in the tropical Andes highlands around Cusco and Machu picchu.
