Why choose HEEED Malawi?

HEEED Malawi was founded in 2004 by WWF Finland, and has since been a leading community development organization in Chembe Village, Cape Maclear. As a fully registered non-profit Malawian NGO through CONGOMA and the NGO Board of Malawi, we are recognized by the government as a legal entity and report directly to a board of trustees. Since our inception, HEEED has worked in a range of focus areas including environmental conservation and research, organic farming, aquaculture, bilharzia research, feeding programs, teaching English as a second language, home-based care programs, creative recycling and art education, and joint programs with Lake Malawi National Park staff. We strongly believe in increasing economic opportunity for community members, and aim to support as many as possible through employment opportunities and through our programming. HEEED is headquartered in Cape Maclear at the HEEED Center (Panda Garden), where we run most of our programs.
