Once we arrived, we had a housing issue because two of our students did not show up. Because the host parents had already prepared their homes for us, we accommodated to the changes and had two students (girls) stay in homes by themselves instead of rooming together. It all ended up working out. The instruction by Helen and her other partner was excellent. I personally enjoyed having her assistance. Catarina Campos was the best city guide we had the entire trip. The young male guide was not the greatest. He rushed through a lot of the sites and wasn't very helpful. We hit a few problems (curriculum-wise) in the beginning arriving to the schools, but we all were flexible and worked it out. We definitely didn't want to leave by the end of the week. They made a lasting impression on us!

What would you improve about this program?

Communication between the colleges and schools needs to be better so that the college students will know what to teach when they get there. Also, have enthusiastic tour guides helps our experience as tourists. You guys had wonderful people help us for the most part.

I traveled to Costa Rica with my co-workers to part take in Ilisa Spanish speech-language pathology program. There was a total of 6 therapist. The classes were the perfect size it was three students to one teacher. Ilisa had cultural activities planned for us (e.g. dancing, museum tours, city tours, etc). We even were able to observe speech therapy in Spanish, at the university campus. We had our own personal tour guide Dennis, who was fabulous and made sure, we were all taken care of. Ilisa gave us a list of affordable housing options for the two week stay in CR. The staff at Ilisa made booking the program easy and answered all of my questions promptly. Thank you, again Ilisa for such a wonderful experience.
