LGBT Voice

LGBT VOICE is a registered national Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) organization. Our mission is to advance equality, diversity, education and justice for LGBT people in Tanzania.

Although Tanzania is a member of UN's Human Rights Declaration, the country lacks protection for LGBT people. The group still faces discrimination in society, and homosexuality is considered a crime. The state also doesn't guarantee marriage equality for LGBT couples.

Our organization's mission is to change such situation, and we base our work on five core values:

-A commitment to building our communities and the organizations that serve LGBT people
-A commitment to diversity
-A commitment to openness, inclusion, and partnership
-A commitment to challenging and ending anti-LGBT discrimination
