Polis: The Jerusalem Institute of Languages and Humanities

Why choose Polis: The Jerusalem Institute of Languages and Humanities?

Polis - The Jerusalem Institute of Languages and Humanities was established in 2008 by a group of academics with the shared goal of promoting the study of ancient and Semitic languages. The founders believe that the best way to understand an ancient or modern text or culture is to become immersed in the language, through listening, speaking, writing, and reading. There are still thousands of pages of ancient knowledge that have not yet been translated, and most who can read Koine Greek, Biblical Hebrew, and Latin are forced to rely on dictionaries, other languages, and other translators as an intermediary. In this way, they are unable to truly access the ancient languages on a personal or academic level.
