Sanaga-Yong Chimpanzee Rescue

Sanaga-Yong Chimpanzee Rescue provides sanctuary for 72 chimpanzees in seven enclosures sprawling over 40 acres of land. The Sanctuary is located in Cameroon’s remote Mbargue Forest.

Sanaga-Yong actively seeks volunteers for six-month stays. Volunteers help with the day-to-day operations: working with the French-speaking Cameroonian staff, helping with feeding and caring for chimpanzees, washing fruit, cleaning cages, maintaining the fence and facilities, overseeing use of project equipment, painting, provisioning and other manual tasks.
