Speak Like A Mexican immersion course

Nov 4, 2024

I had so much fun doing the five day immersion course. Fátima was an awesome teacher - she made a real effort to learn about me, so that she would know how to target her teaching. After thinking in Spanish for four hours each day it all just flowed easier. I loved all of the activities, which Fátima organised after checking my preferences.
The activities make it feel as though you're getting to know Mexico as well as improving your Spanish. Would definitely do the immersion course again next time in CDMX. Highly recommended!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Make sure you go to Mercado Jamaica, and do the cooking class there. The cooking teacher and his friendly are wonderful friendly people. The market itself was amazing as well.

Great experience!

Nov 1, 2024

It’s not easy to learn a new language as an adult but Speak Like A Mexican makes it fun. My teacher, Jeannie, is kind, patient and enjoyable to speak with. She reallly explains things to me in ways that I can understand and I’ve made leaps and bounds with my Spanish since I started with her. Online classes are very flexible and I can learn at my own pace.
The whole crew is great and very responsive and helpful with any issues. I highly recommend this experience. (In fact, I’ve already referred several friends!)

Improved my Spanish a TON!

Oct 31, 2024

I took classes in 2023-2024. The classes were flexible and my teacher even offered to meet me at my house or a coffee shop. However, I liked going to the school. After 3-4 months, I was soooo much for confident. The teachers will adapt to your style of learning which is ideal. In my case, I needed conjugation practice. Also, there are regular events hosted by school to go out to different places in CDMX. There was a taco tour one night, a mezcal tasting, sometimes just a bar get-together. Highly recommend!

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?
On one of the tours I tried a cow tongue taco. Not for me!!! lol

What is your favorite travel memory?

My trip to Southeast Asia was filled with incredible moments, but if I had to choose one favorite, it would be the sense of wonder I felt while exploring the ancient temples of Angkor Wat in Cambodia. The sheer scale and beauty of these ruins were breathtaking. My favorite travel memory is from my trip to China. I was hiking through the Great Wall when I came across a secluded section with stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

Since joining Speak like a Mexican, I've had the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally. I've learned a great deal about entrepreneurship and the importance of providing exceptional customer service. This has allowed me to become more innovative and focused on meeting the needs of our students.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

One of the most heartwarming stories I've heard from a returning student is that he learned Spanish to communicate with his in-laws. He told us how grateful he was to be able to have meaningful conversations with his family and build a stronger relationship with them. It's stories like these that remind us of the real-world impact our work has.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

If I had the opportunity to choose any program, I would definitely select the 40-hour course. I've heard great things about its structured format and clear objectives. The 40-hour program is a well-structured training initiative that provides participants with a clear roadmap for skill development. It's broken down into manageable modules, each with specific learning objectives.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

What truly sets our company apart is the exceptional service we provide and the dedication of our teachers. Our programs are meticulously structured to deliver tangible results, and our team is committed to helping our students achieve their goals. I'm particularly proud of our team when I see students making significant progress and sharing their success stories.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

I believe that a company's success hinges on a combination of factors, but a strong and dedicated team is arguably the most crucial. A team that shares a common vision, is passionate about their work, and is committed to delivering exceptional results can overcome challenges and drive growth. Additionally, a deep understanding of customer needs and a relentless focus on innovation are essential for long-term success.
