Taricaya Ecological Reserve

Taricaya is an amazing and magical place in the heart of the rainforest of Peru! I had a wonderful experience learning from team members and interacting with nature. I learned about the flora and fauna of the region as well as being involved in activities such as animal feeding, aspects of research of native species, observing animals in their natural habitat and tracking behaviour. The Taricaya team is great and always open to share knowledge and help. Loved the experience and fully recommend!!!

I had the best time at Taricaya. The wildlife, nature, the rainforest. It was all so beautiful, the staff was always so helpful, the food was great, wasn't expecting to see so many wild animals, it was just perfect. I think this is the best way to visit the jungle. Wouldn't do it any other way. Me encantó el lugar. Todo estuvo genial, el personal fue de mucha ayuda, siempre respondiendo las preguntas que tenianos, las intalaciones super cómodas. La comida muy rica, el viaje en el bite fue nuy fresco y rapido

Altijd al wilde ik zoiets doen, nooit kwam het er van en nu kwam ik hier terecht voor 4 weken. Eerlijk is eerlijk is moest ontzettend wennen in het begin maar bij aankomst werd is direct gewaarschuwd dat ik het tijd moest geven om te wennen. En wat ben ik blij dat ik dat gedaan heb! De mensen waren fijn, de ervaringen waren zo nieuw, ik heb mezelf echt zien ontwikkelen. Ik kan alleen maar zeggen bedankt! Bewijs dat je wilt helpen en er niet bent voor de grap, en je hebt de ervaring van je leven!

My experience in Taricaya in 2021 was nothing short of amazing!.

Being in the middle of the Amazon and working with the animals is a once in a lifetime experience that everyone should experience. It takes you away from your day to day rat race and experience nature in a very meaningful way.

The people were so kind, helpful and really passionate about the cause. Some of the activities I participated including prepping and feeding the animals, helping the team with camera traps, bird watching, turtle releasing back into the river, cayman watching at night, clearing pathways with machete :) and lot of other cool things

I would high recommend it to everybody.

Spent 5 weeks at taricaya when I was 17, it was an amazing experience with lots of lovely people. There was so many different activities you could do, such as animal enrichment, biking in the forest, wood carving, and walks exploring the wildlife. When I visited we were also lucky enough to spend a couple of evenings looking for turtle egg nests in the sand which we would collect and record before burying them back at the reserve ready for them to hatch and be released after a few months. I also really enjoyed the food and the bungalows were nice and clean. I would definitely do it again!
