What is your favorite travel memory?

My favorite travel memory would have to be my trip to the Philippines a few years ago. The Philippines has so much to offer! I went island hopping in El Nido which has the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen, swam with Whale Sharks in Cebu and turtles Panglao, and the people there were incredibly welcoming. I have so many unforgettable memories from that trip. If you've never visited the Philippines, I'd highly recommend it!

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

More than any job I've had before, I've learned that the more you put in, the more rewarding your work will be. I mean this both in terms of the time you invest and how emotionally invested in your work you are.

Of course, I want the company to succeed, but I also want the teachers we place to have the time of their lives teaching abroad. So I really work hard to make sure we find placements that are the best fit for our teachers.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

So many of the candidates I have placed in Hong Kong and China have gone on to do incredible things, not only in their teaching but outside of that too. I know people who moved abroad to teach and have gone on to start businesses, charities and even families in Asia. I always love seeing where our teachers end up and what they end up doing.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

We work with so many amazing schools that it would be hard for me to choose! I lived in Shanghai for many years and it's an amazing place to live and teach English, but I'm currently in Hong Kong which is an equally brilliant place to be. Teaching English abroad gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself in a different culture, to see places you never thought you'd get the chance to see and to meet amazing people along the way.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

Teach Beyond Recruitment is made up of ex-teachers. People who have lived and taught in a foreign country, so we know what it takes to get there and we've faced the challenges that anyone starting a new teaching career abroad will face. That puts us in a pretty good position to help you find the right job and to overcome any hurdles you may find along the way.

I'm proud every time we help someone take their first step on an adventure teaching English abroad!

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

People! By far the most important part of any company is the people in it. We spend our days talking to teachers, finding out what it is that they want from their time overseas and doing our best to help them achieve it. We want to be a company that people enjoy interacting with and want to come back to again and again. Creating that takes great people.
