Why choose Teach North Korean Refugees?

Teach North Korean Refugees (TNKR) is an NGO based in Seoul, South Korea. We support North Korean defectors with language and jobs skills training programs. We run as a personal tutoring program to work one on one with defectors to help facilitate their integration into South Korea. Volunteers can work as tutors or with the NGO administration.

Great place to volunteer and learn

TNKR - teach north korean refugees, has been one of the most valuable ways I could have choosen to spend my time in a foreign country! I have learned so much about north korean issues from real people who have lived and endured difficult and life threatening situations! I have been able to give back by tutoring 6 different refugees. This has allowed me to get more comfortable with teaching English while tutoring in a relaxed environment. Tutoring does not take much time as it is on your schedule so it is very flexible!
If tutoring is not for you, tnkr allows you to get involved in speaking out for social justice on issues in north korea. I can not say enough about how great TNKR is. The leaders are very professional and treat everyone with respect and dignity! Check out TNKR!
