I’ve not been in South Korea for long (almost 2 months) but what I can say is that so far the people I have met both expats and locals have been kind welcoming and friendly.

Learning the customs and traditions and experiencing everyday life in a new way is so interesting. Having a strong support system and being open minded and eager to meet new people will serve you well since Korea is a social country in its cafe, restaurant and bar culture.

I plan on travelling as much as I can too! It’s cheap and easy to do

Pros
  • Pushing myself out my comfort zone
  • Immersing myself in a whole different culture
  • It’s easy to travel
Cons
  • Obviously the language barrier can make some situations very difficult
  • If you don’t like people looking at you, taking your picture then this is something to consider
