What is your favorite travel memory?

Having visited over 40 countries, most of them multiple times, it's difficult to choose just one, but I would have to say, driving a motorcycle in HCMC, Vietnam. Hundreds of other motorcycles are just inches away from you and you drive through the heavy traffic. It is so similar to a massive school of fish swimming together swimming in unison.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

I have learned not to overreact to problems. To someone in an emotional situation, everything is a crisis. Quite often, it's not. Listen carefully, discuss with an eye out for the details, and give everyone time to calm down before actually reacting and making important decisions. This way, one can manage diverse teams to great success.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

The same story and the same comment, over and over, for 20 years. "It changed my life". Many students, especially my fellow Americans, are quite insular and have never really traveled and lived abroad (going to a beach resort in Mexico does not count). but living in a foreign country, really experiencing another culture, changes your perception of the world and life.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I think the Lamar Tri-continent program, where a student can get a full bachelor's degree from Lamar University, for only $20,000 in tuition and fees, all while living in Bangkok, is an amazing opportunity to get a great education from a great US university, have an amazing international experience all for the price of one semester at many US schools.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

Affordability. We want to make our programs something that anyone can afford, and, in fact, save money by participating in! It would be easy to offer an expensive program for rich kids. It takes skill, experience, and hard work to offer one that is both affordable and robust. Everybody has the right to a good education. As we all know, more expensive doesn't always mean better. We are proud to make quality education affordable.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

Adaptability. The world is constantly changing, and so are the circumstances revolving around study abroad. And that goes right down to the individual level. We, as an organization, need to be constantly ready for those changes, and we need to be very close to our students to understand what they want, what they need, and what will help them greatly in their future life.
