The Section of Wilderness & Environmental Medicine is a university-based enterprise to promote research, best practice, education, and outreach to promote health and wellness in extreme or austere environments. The section offers Pre-Med courses abroad in Costa Rica and Switzerland. Our Pre-Med programs are taught by faculty of the University of Colorado School of Medicine, nearly two week, hands-on introduction to emergency, wilderness, and global health medicine class. In addition to gaining hands-on experience, students will get to know successful medical school faculty and physicians, and get the inside scoop on the medical school application process and a career in healthcare. Students have the opportunity to earn a Wilderness First Responder and global health certificates.
