ViviendasLeón is a non-profit whose mission is to eliminate rural poverty by developing self-sufficient rural populations while building awareness and community through international service learning education travel. ViviendasLeón’s development program empowers rural families to improve their standard of living by building their capacities in areas of resilience, self-esteem, cooperation, and leadership while training for environmental stewardship, farming, and small business development in Central America. ViviendasLeón’s global education program enhances intercultural understanding between rural communities, international partners and groups that support rural development, learn transferable skills and develop a commitment to social justice.
