My experience of taking the course

My name is Kales. I have just graduated but my major has nothing to do with English. However, I was thinking about becoming an English teacher. That is a good way to work online from any place because I’m not ready to leave my family now. When I started searching for a job online, I found out that there are some requirements for English teachers. Truth be told, I didn’t fit the bill. I didn’t have any international certification such as CAE, IELTS, or CELTA. Then I decided to learn information about exams and training, which could help me to enhance my professional knowledge and prove my ability to teach people. That’s why I’ve enrolled in this TEFL/TESOL course. I knew that a 120-hour course was enough to start a teaching career however, I wanted to get all the appropriate knowledge and took a 250-hour course. I liked the course so much, especially the last part about getting a job and making a resume. There was such valuable information that helped me a lot. Now I work in Cambly, and I’m so happy.

I was surprised...

I read a lot of books about teaching English. And I was really surprised that the TEFL/TESOL course revealed so many things that I didn’t know. I’ve chosen this course because I’m going to Shanghai in spring to teach Chinese children, and taking a TEFL/TESOL course was an obligation. That was hard to choose the most appropriate program, however, courses descriptions helped a lot. The course was well-structured and provided additional exercises and quizzes to check my knowledge afterward. But, what I really liked most was the phonetic section. Studying and teaching sounds and pronunciation is very important for me because I’m not a native English speaker.

TEFL/TESOL certificate helped me to get a job

My name is Kate. I work in Belgium. English teachers, especially native speakers are in demand here. That’s why there is a cut-throat competition. The half of last year I was working in a local language center, where I got less than $10 per hour. So, I started looking for different ways how to raise my salary. Obviously, I needed something to prove my teaching knowledge. I checked vacancies on the Internet to find some online schools to apply for. However, all of them required either CELTA or TEFL certification. After research, I found out that the TEFL course is cheaper and more convenient in terms of duration. It was really interesting because all units were different and included theory and practice. The structure was clear and simple, and I tried to use all tips. My students said that my lessons became more entertaining. What is more important is I got a job in an international school with decent conditions.

My thoughts about 150-hour MASTER TEFL & TESOL course...

I have always dreamed of working abroad, that’s why I’ve opted for teaching English. Despite the fact, I’m not from an English-speaking country, I like this language and I’m passionate to help other people to acquire it. Firstly, I started searching for relevant information on the Internet. However, it wasn’t a brilliant idea. There are so many people with different work experience. But I needed a plan on how to become a qualified English teacher to get a job abroad. So, I turned to International Certification. I really liked the way of presenting materials and the opportunity to get feedback from native speakers. There was a lot of new information, so I decided to take some notes. Now, I’m preparing my resume to apply for a job in Vietnam.

Feedback on the TEFL/TESOL course

I have been teaching English for 3 years but there is still room for improvement. I was afraid to teach Upper-Intermediate and Advanced students. I was looking for inspiration to add something new to my teaching style. When I read the course description I thought, "That's what I need". I was impressed with the course structure. I could get back to any chapter at any time to take some notes, that was really convenient. And a tutor, who helped me during the course, was highly qualified. He explained all my mishaps and provided positive feedback. I'm so proud that I decided to improve my knowledge with this course.

My opinion about the program

When I decided to become an English teacher, I was confused. There was so much information about teaching, so I couldn't get what was really important. I hadn't taught anybody before the course, so I had no idea how to make lesson plans and teach grammar. My tutor supported me and gave valuable advice during the course. Thanks to that, I started teaching online. Now I can easily adjust materials and exercises to students' level. I know I need to practice a lot but now I feel confident in teaching.
