Rabat

I had such an amazing time in Rabat! This program immersed me in the culture while also providing a meaningful experience through volunteering. I was a solo traveler, and I felt the staff was very accommodating and accessible. They even assisted me with basic Arabic language skills and transportation information, which was very helpful. It was a comfortable process all along the way. I highly recommend this group as a way to experience immersive travel while being able to contribute in a real and positive way to the local community.

Pros
  • Immersive

Incredible program!

Mastapha leads an excellent program. He takes a personalized approach to ensure his volunteers feel safe, supported and that they have the resources needed while traveling in Morocco (and beyond). Through the program, I was able to make genuine connections with women in Casablanca, helping them learn French and English, while learning about their culture and sharing my own. This was an extremely rewarding experience and I’m so grateful for Mastapha’s guidance through my stay in Morocco. The program is well designed to give participants time to explore and travel throughout Morocco and I was able to see Marrakech, Imlil, Chefchaouen and Essouaira, in addition to Rabat and Casablanca. Travel felt safe, though with discernment to be cautious. I speak French and this was very helpful when traveling outside the major cities. Participating in this program had a profound impact on my perception of other cultures and appreciation for differences and commonalities.

Pros
  • Rich local culture
  • Warm welcome from host family
  • Travel to other parts of the country
Cons
  • Local housing in Rabat was much nicer than in Casablanca
  • Gluten free diet can be challenging

Wonderful Experience

Had a really amazing time in Morocco with Mastapha. From the very beginning, I felt taken care of. My train was late and I was expected hours before but since I didn’t have a phone I couldn’t notify anyone and hoped for the best. Mastapha was waiting for me at the station. Anyone else would be angry but he was so nice about it. He checked in with me everyday to make sure I was enjoying my time and helped translate a few times to a friend I made on my assignment. 10/10 would do it again. Thank you!

Pros
  • Safety
  • Food
  • Community
Cons
  • Not much to do in Rabat

Excellent program!

Mohammed takes great care to ensure his visiting volunteers have everything they need. Maneuvering a new country can be challenging and Mohammed makes sure his volunteers understand the transportation systems, the currency, cultural customs and how to reach him if help is needed. There are also many opportunities to meet new people from across the world! I met truly wonderful Moroccans, other students from the US and the UK. As a working professional, this program gave me good flexibility to accommodate my job needs and the narrow window of available vacation time. I highly recommend working with Mohammed’s program!

It’s time to go to Morocco

It’s my first time to go to Morocco. But I will come back second time for sure. The team are responsible from the first day pick up in the Rabat airport to the last time check out.
Beautiful country! Amazing people!
Just get off from your office desk or your library computer. It’s time to explore, to share, to feel. Let me give you one impressive example what I have in Rabat. The second day, we visited an artist center. Most of things like handcrafts made by kids. There I saw a local dance group. They were doing practices in the underground basements. The tutor was teaching other members. His dance was very energetic. That moment, I feel how human being strong and powerful is.
