I had such a great time completing this TEFL certificate course! The support assistant Ahmed was very helpful always. He walk me through the steps of joining the course and let me feel confident that I would have a good experience. I would do this course again if I had to choose again.

I think many TEFL courses need you to have a laptop to complete it. I did all of it on my phone and it worked fine. Everything is broken into little piece so quite easy to read and understand. Definitely recommend.

Thumb up

I am already in Asia teaching. I always wanted to leave my hometown to live in another country and teaching English gives me this chance. I can do this because I passed this TEFL course.

On the website the staff are helpful and reply promptly. It was an easy course to follow. Everything was put into small parts so it was easy to understand. I think if you want to study TEFL then you can do it with this company.

I don't have anything bad to say about it. I am very grateful for their support and hardwork.

  • good support

Great course

I completed the 120-hour TEFL/TESOL course last night. In total it took me about 3 days of work. I appreciate this is less than the intended 120 hours, but I definitely could go through some of the lessons quite quickly as it was stuff that I already had some knowledge of. The course has plenty of short checkpoints and assessments to pass. Actually I felt they were quite useful because they ensured that I actually was paying attention and digesting the information I was reading. I know I am the type of person who can easily read through 10 pages of writing and then realise that I have no recollection of what I've just been through. All of this ensures that by the time you get to the final assessment you have a very good idea about everything related to TEFL, and can have a good crack at the assessment. Actually, I'll be honest, I failed the assessment the first time, but you can retake it as many times as you want, and after the failed attempt you recieve feedback that indicates which questions I got wrong. This was a vital bit of information in my opinion. So, I'm all done now, and just waiting for the printed certificate to arrive and then I'll be off to Thailand in 2 months. If you are reading this, good luck with your adventure too.

Pros
  • Useful tests
  • Can be completed fairly quickly
  • They have simplified it nicely

simpleTEFL 120 hour course

I really recommend studying this course to anyone looking for a TEFL certificate. It was straightforward and relatively quick to complete, and I actually learned a lot from it. After I completed it, I received an email explaining that I could order a printed copy of the certificate so I did that and it arrived in just over a week. That was pretty important to me since I was planning to use the TEFL certificate as part of my application to work in Vietnam. So, I got it authenticated through an apostille service, and soon after that I got my visa and work permit for Vietnam. Definitely give it a go.

Pros
  • Simple
  • Quick
  • Helped me get a visa and work permit

Relevant Content & Great Support from the program provider

The content is easy to navigate through with understanding. It is straightforward and sparks an interest as you maneuver through the platform. The program provider was very helpful and quick to answer all the questions. The course has helped me to better understand classroom management and how to construct a lesson plan.

I am ready for an endless adventure! This certificate has opened international doors for me :) I would highly recommend the course to others - plus it's very affordable. Thumbs up.

Helpful

I wanted the TEFL certificate to be able to online at first and maybe look at going abroad in a few years. As soon as i finished the course I used the certificate to apply for work on preply and now I'm teaching there which is nice. The thing that stood out to me though is the amount of support and guidance I was given through every step. The staff gave me outlines for how to submit an effective application, help with my resume, guidance on the best online platforms for me personally to work on, and assured me they will help me in the future if I actually do decide to teach overseas. My feeling is that they went above and beyond for such a cheap fee.

Pros
  • only $29
  • accredited
  • super helpful support

Great course

When I was considering teaching, I had loads of options, but I picked simpleTEFL because it looked easy enough and it was a great price. Turned out to be a great decision. The course was straightforward and user-friendly, and I with some assistance from the chat found myself going through the material without much trouble.

I learned a lot from the course. From teaching methods to classroom management and all the grammar rules and words I'd forgotten. It didn’t just throw information at me and it made sure I understood each bit before leading onto the next. The quizzes and assignments were a great tool for that.

After I finished, I got a teaching job in Korea. I just finished my course, got my certificate, and landed a placement. I'm so happy for the path it has opened up for me. Their online chat was super helpful. When I was job hunting, they gave me advice and pointed me in the right direction.

I’m now getting ready to head off to Korea to start my teaching adventure, and that's why I thought I would leave this review. I’ve gone from being unsure about what to do next to preparing for an exciting journey in a new country.

I have one piece of advice for anyone reading: just go for it. You won’t regret it. It's not just about the course, it's about the opportunities it opens up for you. I couldn't recommend it enough. There are lots of other courses out there but the reason I would recommend this one is it is so affordable.

Pros
  • Job assistance
  • cheap
  • informative

Good value

The course was much cheaper than others and it did exactly what it was advertised to do. I have used the certificate to get access to more online teaching programs which have brought me much more work than before. It took under 2 weeeks to complete and I was doing it quite casually.

When I signed up I had a few questions which were answered pretty promptly through online chat. Sometimes it can be stressful giving money to unknown companies online but they put me at ease and I’m glad o trusted them

Pros
  • Good value
  • Simple
  • Quick to complete

Pleasantly surprised by how good an affordable course could be

First of all, the main reason I decided to write this review is because I don't understand why so many of the online TEFL courses are so expensive, 99% are well above $100 and most getting above $200 or $300. I don't really know what they could possibly offer that this waaaay cheaper simpleTEFL course doesn't offer? I genuinely don't understand why their prices are so inflated.

Basically, I've been looking to do a TEFL course for some time, and came close to enrolling a few times on a number of different websites. I always backed out though because it can feel quite an expensive investment, and you don't really know what you are going to get in return.

Ultimately I decided to go for simpleTEFL's course because it was one of the most affordable I could find at $29 for lifetime access, and it had all the hallmarks of a professional reputable site - nice looking website, responsive customer support, job placements etc. But despite all this, I really didn't know what to expect buying a pretty cheap course. I mean, was it just cheap because it was really bad? At $29 it felt like a punt I could take without much risk really - although I know not everyone will feel that way.

As soon as I had paid and was lead to the first page of the course, you could see that it absolutely was not a scam or badly made. The course platform, layout, and dashboard (whatever all that stuff is called) is really easy to use, clear and laid out exactly what I was going to be learning on the course.

The course content was presented in a clear and concise manner, which made it easy to understand and digest. It was definitely simple like the name suggested, well as simple as it could be I suppose but I don't think I ever had any moments where I struggled to understand what they were trying to teach me. It covered all the essential topics I needed to know to begin teaching English as a foreign language.

What I appreciated the most about this course was its focus on practical teaching skills. The modules were well-structured, and the assignments were designed to help me apply what I had learned. The course also included helpful resources and teaching materials that I can use in my future teaching.

Finally, when I completed everything I actually felt like I had learned something and improved myself. I did apply myself and take the course seriously because I desperately wanted to teach abroad, but I am honestly surprised by how much I felt I got out of it. When I think about it, I can't imagine there are many situations in a classroom that I won't be able to handle. Maybe I am being naive? But I digested such a massive range of useful information in the course that I just feel pretty confident about things right now.

As soon as I finished the course I could download a pdf of my certificate (which actually looks really cool, yet professional. Some other places just seem to use generic certificate templates?) and I am currently in the process of applying for a job to live and teach in Thailand that I accessed through their website as well. If everything goes well I should be setting off in around a month or so.

Basically, I've got everything out of a TEFL course that I could hope for - actually learned how to properly teach English, manage classes, come up with lessons plans, get help finding a job, and get a respected certificate - and all I've had to pay was $29... If you are thinking of paying hundreds of dollars for a course you need to have a think about it

Pros
  • Incredibly affordable
  • A really nice looking certificate that schools accept
  • You actually learn how to teach
Cons
  • The course wasn't exciting, but is it meant to be?
