I recently spent a great 2 weeks in France living with 2 different French families improving my French. Truely a unique experience being immersed in the French culture of the area you stay in. Excellent teachers with one on one tuition catered to your particular needs, delightful families to stay with and an experience of local French culture that would be hard to find otherwise. I have now done a few different Slimmersion stays and each one has been very enjoyable and worthwhile and my French has improved!

Claude is an EXCELLENT professor and helped me finally figure out the subjunctive. Her apartment is right by the soccer/rugby stadium and is conveniently close to multiple subway stops. Each morning my daughter and I would go on a long walk before breakfast. Once morning we stumbled upon the BEST bakery in Paris for the BEST croissants I have ever had (I think it was called Leonie). Staying with Claude is like staying with the French Auntie everyone wishes they had (or if they don't, they do now!) Claude is smart, funny, irreverent and a wealth of knowledge. She has had a long interesting life and is full of fun stories. We met her husband Jean Paul towards the end of our stay and he was equally intelligent, kind and welcoming. We felt truly welcomed and are so grateful to have had this experience. Their apartment was small, cozy and with books everywhere...they are true intellectuals. It was a deeply authentic French experience and we loved it.

We spent a fantastic week with Lucie in Bretagne.

Our hosts made us feel at home away from home and they showed us so many different sides of the Bretagne region!!!

Lucie tailored my French lessons to my interests and areas I wanted to improve.

She also struck a good balance during the excursions between coaching me in French and including my partner who doesn’t even speak French.

SL immersion were great to communicate with and made the booking process very easy.

Highly recommend homestays!!!

My hosts, Sophie and Giles, were kind and accommodating. There is no better way to learn about a culture and a language than living with a family. My individual French lessons with Sophie were designed for my particular skill level and needs. I learned a great deal during a very short period of time. Sophie also arranged a number of outings for me that were both fascinating and educational. Her personal knowledge about these places deepened my own understanding. It is without hesitation that I recommend Sophie at SI immersion.

I stayed for about 10 days with Dominique and Fred in the Ardèche region. It was excellent. My room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. Dominique and Fred took very good care of me and we had delicious meals and lots of excursions. I didn’t speak English for the whole time as for the company SL Immersion, Candela was excellent. She answered all of my questions quickly even though we do have the time change. She helped me Connect with Dominique and she organized all of the detail details.

We spent 6 nights with Dominique in her beautiful home in Burzet. The entire experience surpassed all our expectations! Dominique drew on her well-established professional teaching career to help us develop our French language skills and increase our confidence; she expertly navigated the balance between pushing us to try new things without overwhelming us. We appreciated the daily structure of revision, development and then preparation for whichever outing we had chosen, and on which Dominique always accompanied us. Our accommodation was lovely: a sensitively converted chapel with unique artistic touches, en suite bathroom and private terrace. Dominique is also an excellent chef and we were treated to all sorts of local cuisine, often eating on the outside terrace with magnificent views over the valley. We honestly could not recommend our home stay with Dominique more and plan to return. We both learnt a lot, but also had a LOT of fun.

Cela a dépassé toutes mes attentes. Leur hospitalité était extraordinaire : une cuisine délicieuse, des conversations passionnantes et enrichissantes, des rencontres avec d'adorables animaux à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur de la maison, des excursions dans les magnifiques sites de Bretagne et même un fest noz !

Céline est une professeure très expérimentée, talentueuse et patiente. Je ne suis qu'un débutant avancé en français oral, et mon séjour n'a duré qu'une semaine, mais cette expérience m'a permis de gagner considérablement en confiance. Je me sens maintenant suffisamment à l'aise pour avoir des conversations simples avec des inconnus.

Je recommande vivement cette expérience !

This exceeded all my expectations. Their hospitality was extraordinary: delicious food, engaging and enriching conversations, encounters with adorable animals both inside and outside the house, excursions to the beautiful sites of Brittany, and even a fest-noz (traditional Breton dance party)!

Céline is a very experienced, talented, and patient teacher. I'm only an advanced beginner in spoken French, and my stay was just one week, but this experience allowed me to gain considerable confidence. I now feel comfortable enough to have simple conversations with strangers.

I highly recommend this experience!

I had a very exciting time with Emmanuel and his family near Cahors. The situation was great - like a small resort with private quarters. It was close enough to the town to be abler to visit easily, but also far enough away to be able to go for walks in the countryside.

The lessons were interesting and varied and he tried to expose me to many of his friends and family to improve conversation skills.

The excursions were fantastic - the region around Cahors is rich in history and natural sites.

I couldn't recommend it highly enough!

I completed my first study stay in France and at SL IMMERSION with the lovely lecturer CÉLINE in beautiful Brittany. She had great patience with me and even a person who knew almost nothing French when she started, was able to teach basic phrases needed in everyday life and the basics of grammar for a week of learning and regular pleasant conversations (including with her husband GILLES, who is a living encyclopedia). Accommodation in a homestead with modern equipment in a private room with a private bathroom fully met my expectations. A huge bonus was the daily "animal therapy" when feeding and cuddling with the cute animals, who are extremely friendly and cuddly. I believe that I will be able to come again and continue to discover the French language...

Everything about my stay with S.L.Immersion was delightful and effective. I have only the highest praise for my teacher's preparation, knowledge, kindness, attentiveness, and sensitivity. Her home was lovely and comfortable. Our days were full of activity but also relaxed and fun. We spoke only French, and although I continued to make a million mistakes, I gained a great deal of confidence. My teacher expertly helped me with the worst errors and never made me feel embarrassed. My stay was truly memorable and worthwhile.
