Lack of Communication & Delayed Refund

I applied and immediately withdrew from my internship program around last year in May with the guaranteed promise mentioned in the email that I would receive a full refund if I withdrew before the internship period. However, I still have not received my refund and keep getting half-hearted excuses of why the delay is taking too long. It’s been almost 1 year and I frequently send emails in Kakao both workers have already quit their jobs and now I only have to rely on emails because nobody can share with me the direct office number of the company or the CEO’s number. They told me that they would return before the end of the year and now we are in 2025. Please be careful of being scammed like I did.

Working in Korea has been a lifelong dream, and I'm grateful to Asialab for making it a reality. The atmosphere here is incredible—despite our diverse backgrounds and languages, everyone is welcoming and supportive. Good for work experience

The staff and other interns were so friendly and helpful! I loved the multi-cultural aspect as there's people from all over the world. It's good for work experience as you'll be doing a lot of work for Asia Lab, and great if you're interested in marketing or sales. Also lots of research of celebrities for the interview documentary. It was a good experience to lead the Zoom meetings with influencers and acquire the only sponsor for the Unforgettable Gala for Asia Lab and other guests.

However, there were not many activities or Hallyu industry experiences. We were told to go to Seoul Con to manage an influencer, but we stood outside the hall because we couldn't go in. Then, we sat in other people’s seats for a bit before standing at the back just to watch for a bit longer. Things weren't very organised and they would mention many workshops and activities which never ended up happening. The examples on the website I wanted to do (e.g. staff or extra in a MV or drama production), they said they couldn't do. There were no monthly networking parties or 'invitations to premieres, award ceremonies, and concerts' as it said on the website. There were also no extra things (e.g. trips or travel support) with the accommodation and it is very different to the pictures (very small).

I would recommend it if you really want to experience work in Korea and have a lot of money. (They do not financially support travel for trips, even the activities they organise.)

Jeonju and Runway to Seoul

I first joined Asia Lab on their trip to Jeonju in the middle of September, it was an unforgettable weekend trip! Although we were all nervous and no one knew each other we bonded really quickly at the bus terminal and as the weekend went on we developed our friendships. Our main objective of the weekend was to film promotional content which featured one of Asia Lab's talent, although we were working we still were able to indulge in the great tasting food of Jeonju and experience the traditional atmosphere Jeonju has to offer. Although, it rain throughout our trip my memories will always be off the professional working experience I received alongside such a global team!

I then joined Asia Lab at the Runway to Seoul event the following Saturday, again the experience I gained will last me a lifetime, I was thoroughly impressed with the level of professionalism everyone held during the hectic schedule of Saturday. Again I got to meet even more global people whilst sharing and forming our own memories. Although I was on the live broadcasting team I managed to observe the stage management side of the event as the departments worked closely with one another and as I have an interest in stage management I took this as an opportunity to learn more. Next time I will network and make contacts!

I am grateful for the opportunity Asia Lab has provided me and can't wait to join them on their next event to continue to learn both personally and professionally!

감사합니다 Asia Lab!

Asia Lab K internship

During my internship with Asia Lab, I had the incredible opportunity to work with the documentary team for the "Runway to Seoul" event. From conducting interviews with amazing people to capturing behind-the-scenes moments of models getting ready for the runway, it was a whirlwind of activity and creativity. I had the privilege of interacting with influencers. Being a part of the documentary team allowed me to gain valuable insights into the meticulous planning and execution of a large-scale fashion event. Working with a diverse team of professionals from different backgrounds and cultures was an enriching experience, fostering a creative and supportive environment. Looking back, I am grateful for the invaluable experiences and lessons I gained during this internship. The skills and knowledge acquired will undoubtedly shape my future endeavors.

YANG YUXIA

This internship is one of the challenges in my life. Although I have been in Korea for three years, my Korean language skills are still lacking. Especially when talking to others, the lack of speaking ability is immediately obvious. As a result, I seldom communicate with people in Korean. I had the courage to try to apply for this internship. I passed the interview! This gave me a lot of encouragement and motivation!
From the training session before the internship, I felt that I liked the atmosphere of ASIALAB. Everyone is from different countries. I was able to communicate in Korean, which I don't know well, and everyone was very accommodating. I feel that I was able to practice my Korean speaking skills during my internship.
I was mainly in charge of filming at the runway to seoul event. It was my first time to participate in a fashion show. I filmed and recorded the event together with my teammates. We learned the whole process of organizing a fashion show. I realized how hard it is to organize the event.
This internship experience is really unforgettable and I would like to thank ASIALAB for giving me this opportunity!

Amazing experience with Asia Lab

On September 16th, 2023 I had a great opportunity of doing an event with Asia Lab in Jeonju City, South Jeolla Province. During that time the city held The World Sori Festival and invited the famous actress Anushka Sen as a guest of honor. For those who do not know, Anushka is a famous Indian actress and an artist under Asia Lab who came to South Korea on a trip as a cultural ambassador for the Korea Tourism Organization on the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between South Korea and India. I was part of a team comprised of 16 people from all over the world. What an amazing opportunity to exchange knowledge over such diverse cultures while enjoying Korean traditional food and experiencing events in Jeonju Hanok Village. The Hanok (Korean traditional house) Village is famous not only for "taste" with bibimbap as one of the main dishes but also for being the largest one with over 700 houses. During filming in different locations we had a chance to taste traditional tea, of course, eat bibimbap, make traditional fans, try Korea's traditional costume - hanbok - and watch the World Sori Festival. All these were possible only by joining Asia Lab's program which I totally recommend. Don't miss this opportunity!

Embarking on a weekend trip for an internship with Asia Lab was nothing short of a fantastic opportunity that left me with an overwhelming sense of excitement and a truly enriching experience. Being a part of this remarkable organization has proven to be the perfect avenue for expanding my horizons and immersing myself in a vibrant and diverse culture. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to AsiaLab for offering me such invaluable opportunities. It's through their support and trust in my abilities that I have been able to embark on this incredible journey of personal and professional growth. The Runway To Seoul fashion show, a hallmark event during my internship, was a testament to Asia Lab's commitment to excellence. The event was meticulously organized, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees. From the striking venue to the flawless execution, it was evident that no stone had been left unturned in ensuring its success. The presence of top models and renowned designers further added to the event's glamour and prestige. Witnessing their creative talents on display was not only inspiring but also a reminder of the boundless possibilities that the world of fashion has to offer. In conclusion, my internship with Asia Lab has been an unforgettable journey filled with opportunities, cultural immersion, and remarkable experiences. I eagerly anticipate the continued growth and learning that this internship will undoubtedly provide, and I remain immensely thankful to AsiaLab for making it all possible.

Internship in JEONJU, South Korea

I had my first internship experience with Asia Lab in Jeonju and I was fascinated by how the team worked with each other and I learned a lot from the way that they communicated with each other.

We were provided the best accommodation and A LOT OF FOOD (ranging from bibimbap, hanjeongsik to seafood). I was actually not expecting to be treated coffee and dessert (the injeolmi bingsu was sooo goood) other than the three meals which I appreciated alot. I can see that it's obvious that they are always trying their best to give us the ultimate experience and I was touched by the fact that they respect us as a foreigner in South Korea.

I can't wait to get involved in more events in the future with the team and learn new things during the process. And this becomes an experience that can be easily erased in my life! Once again, thank you so much to Asia Lab for providing this opportunity for me to grow.

Let's Asia Lab!
