I came in as an intermediate level student and the teachers matched me with other students at the same level. I really enjoyed learning together with them in a small group setting. (We were usually 2-3 students in the group.) The teacher we had is very experienced and she knows exactly how to encourage each student. She would always give the right tips at the right times so that we didn’t get discouraged in our learning but were able to keep moving forward.

Mandarin Zone was a natural choice for me for several reasons:
- Reasonable pricing
- Super convenient location just off the Tuanjiehu subway station
- I felt that my level was accurately assessed when I first joined. And indeed the classes have provided just the right amount of challenge.

The building where the school is in is just recently renovated, which means nice and clean facilities- something you can’t always take for granted in China, so that’s another plus.

For three months I visited weekly on-site Mandarin group classes taught by Wanda Wan. I was really happy about those classes.

For over 20 years, I have been studying languages with different teachers. Ms Wang was arguably among the top 3 teachers who ever taught me. Her teaching method is as simple as it is effective and her explanations were always concise and relevant. She knows exactly what you have to know and what you do not have to know to effectively learn Mandarin.
Thanks to Ms Wang I felt like I got the maximum out of the time I invested in studying Mandarin.

Moreover, the prices for group lessons at Mandarin Zone are cheaper than those that other language schools in Beijing ask for.

I’ve joined the HSK2 group and finished at HSK4-5 group after 8 months studying.

The school helped a lot to learn a lot of new words, practice speaking and learn Chinese characters. And also to get new friends from other countries

The location of school is very easy to get — in the center of Beijing, near metro (2 min walking) and close to SanLiTun area.

Teachers are very polite, friendly and suggest great books for learning language

School’s main focus is to give you the knowledge — that’s very valuable and what exactly I was looking for.

School provide free water , coffee for you if needed. You also can bring your own food to have a short snack break

I recently took an intensive Chinese language course at Mandarin Zone. I enjoyed it a lot and plan to continue studying there in the future. It gave me confidence in studying Chinese and I found the teacher very helpful and informative. Although it was a beginner course I found I had little trouble in keeping up. Of course, my level may have been a bit high for that level but I think it is a good idea to learn some basic vocabulary before studying a language. I look forward to studying there again.

I came at the end of my contract in Beijing and they set up private lessons for me that moved at the pace I needed. We skipped over things that I knew and focused on things that needed more practice. My lovely teachers were patient and encouraging. They knew how to explain clearly and how to get me speaking. It's conveniently located near the subway. Despite the fact that I had to commute for an hour, I looked forward to my classes every day! Now that I'm back in Canada, I have the resources (great texts + lesson notes) to review and continue on my own!

I signed up for a 60-hour beginner class at Mandarin Zone. I had no experience with Chinese language. My Chinese teacher was really patient as I started learning how to say common words and pronounce common sentences. We looked at basic characters (Han Zi) also. She even helped me navigate some online shopping websites (all the text is Chinese)! I learned a little about Chinese and Beijing culture, too.
Mandarin Zone was an easy walk from my home. I had researched other language schools in Beijing, but decided to go with Mandarin Zone due to their location, reasonable cost of tution, professionalism and stellar reputation.
I would definitely recommend Mandarin Zone to anyone wanting to learn this wonderful language. Learning the basics will make your experience in Beijing even better!

I've taken in total 70 lessons (class pricing very fair!) from different teachers between June and August 2019 at Mandarin Zone School while I was on a three-month work assignment in Beijing. The school was recommended to me by a colleague of mine. It is very conveniently located at Tuanjiehu subway station. The school features very experienced, friendly teachers who are very motivated and qualified. My teachers adapted their style of teaching as well as teaching contents to my individual learning requirements and I could request changes anytime. This is a very strong point of the school. Every student decides on what aspect she or he wants to focus on. All levels are available from beginner to advanced. I focused on speaking but other but it is also possible to get help for HSK exam preparation. I've had a very positive experience and could considerably improve my spoken Mandarin. Next time I will be in Beijing, I will definitely chose this school again.

Mandarin Zone was a great place to get 1 on 1 private classes for learning Chinese. The programs are really effective and in a month my Chinese was noticeably better than it was before. The teachers are great, set effective homework that get you to practice the important things, and you can tell they are very experienced. It was much better than other Chinese schools I went to in China. There are also group courses which further encourage conversing in the language in an open environment.

I moved to Beijing for work. I joined Mandarin Zone more than a year ago as an absolute beginner for some part time course. When I had to adjust my schedule due to my work I got offered to move to another small group which were about the same level as me but follow another more suitable schedule for me. I really appreciated this flexibility. Both teachers I experienced there so far were nice and effective. Last but not least also the location is super central and convenient.

As a beginner, I was able to learn Chinese pronunciation. With what I learnt over 6 days, it has helped me understand what is being said around me. I now have a good understanding of sentence structure. Now with some practical experience should be able to carry a simple conversation. I am very grateful to my teacher Sophia for her patient instruction.
