Such a great experience! I was looking for a Spanish school in Buenos Aires that wasn't just about sitting in a classroom memorizing grammar, and this place was exactly what I wanted. The teachers really know their stuff, the environment is welcoming, and you get to practice real Spanish that you can actually use around the city. Being right in the heart of Buenos Aires makes everything so convenient. Definitely one of the highlights of my time in Argentina. Totally worth it! Thank you for everything.
What was your funniest moment?
If you're thinking about immersion learning in Argentina, do it! The language classes are great, but honestly, the absolute best part of living at the school is the Friday welcome lunch held for new incoming students. It’s super laid-back: everyone brings snacks, bizcochuelos (sponge cakes), and cold cuts—though a student from Uruguay did bring some incredible imported cured ham from back home! Our teacher, Ignacio (a hilarious guy from Córdoba), sets out fresh pastries, brews some fernet, and we all sit around snacking and getting to know each other.
Last Friday, though, turned into pure comedy gold during our welcome meal thanks to a total cultural misfire.
We were sitting around for dessert—nibbling on postre vigilante (sweet potato paste with cheese) and passing around a giant tub of dulce de leche. Gérard, our resident dramatic French classmate, started going off about how pairing cheese with sweet potato was a "gourmet crime."
