Really Wonderful Experience

I had a great time in Costa Rica with IVHQ. Volunteered with sea turtles and I actually felt like we were making a difference. I met lots of nice people and the local team were super helpful and answered all my questions. The IVHQ team were really supportive and I found the website useful with the checklist of what I had to do. The country itself was amazing, and I loved staying with actual residents as I got to experience their culture properly. I did struggle a bit as there is some sexism in Costa Rican culture, and sometimes men did not act appropriately. However, this was not the fault of IVHQ or Maximo Novel (the local organisation) and I was forewarned which helped. Overall a really incredible experience!
