Volunteering with this incredible organization that supports HIV-affected women in the slums of Kisumu has truly been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life.
From the moment I connected with them, I could see how well-organized and deeply committed they are to transforming the lives of these women. The impact they’re making is real and heartwarming.
The women themselves are amazing — so warm, welcoming, and determined. Watching them work tirelessly to achieve financial independence is nothing short of inspiring.
What also stood out is how supportive the organization was from start to finish. They helped me plan everything, from advising on affordable flights and insurance, to ensuring my arrival was smooth and that I felt safe and cared for. Even now, long after my time there, they stay in touch — and I love seeing how much they continue to grow every day.
I wholeheartedly recommend volunteering with them to anyone looking for a chance to make a genuine difference. It’s an experience that will stay with you forever.💛
If there’s anything I might gently suggest, it would be to explore ways to secure more resources, as I noticed at times there were limitations that affected what could be provided to the women. Also, perhaps offering a short orientation or cultural tips session at the start could help volunteers adjust even faster.
Overall, thank you so much for all the care and hard work that goes into making this program a success. I feel grateful to have been a part of it.
