An Eye-Opening Cultural Exchange

I came to this project hoping to make a difference, but I was the one truly transformed. Each day was an adventure in culture, community, and hands-on skill. The laughter around the tailoring tables, the warm smiles, and the countless shared stories created a bond and a sense of belonging that’s a slice of humanity I’ll treasure forever. Beyond the project itself, Kisumu is a lovely, beautiful city rich with culture and traditional history. There’s so much to see and explore; from the fascinating Kisumu Museum to the serene Impala Park, the breathtaking sunsets at Hippo Point, the calm of Ndere Island, and the vibrant life around Dunga Beach and Hill Camp. These experiences made my stay not just meaningful but truly unforgettable. It’s a place where every moment feels alive with purpose, connection, and discovery. I leave carrying priceless memories, new perspectives, and deep gratitude for the people who welcomed me so openly into their lives.
