My stay in Kathmandu was such a rich experience personally as well as professionally. The city has such a rich culture that you are able to experience by visiting the different temples, museums, town centers, attending festivals and living with a host family also offers a unique opportunity. At first the city is overwhelming because it's such a different environment with the chaotic traffic and crowded streets, but after realizing you are safe and learning to cross the street, it is very enjoyable to immerse yourself in the way of life. Eating momos at small restaurants for lunch, taking tuk tuks around town, learning a few Nepali words and bargaining for handmade treasures. The people of Nepal are friendly and open to sharing their culture and way of life, take the time to learn about them and be open about yours as well. If you are a westerner, living in Kathmandu will be an experience of a lifetime.
