About Program

Complete a practicum in music therapy while also enjoying the culture and history of China! On this two-week summer program, students will join Augsburg University faculty leader Annie Heiderscheit, Ph.D., MT-BC, LFMT, on a program in Chongqing China. Participants will volunteer at a burn camp for children with limited access to healthcare, interact with Chinese music and physical therapists, and enjoy additional excursions to places such as the Great Wall and a boat cruise on the Yangtze River.

This program blends together the unique and rich history of music in China with the modern-day practice of music therapy in a Chinese context. Earn credits in undergraduate or graduate level coursework; all coursework will be in English.
