About Program

The American Lebanese Language Center (ALLC), founded in the early 1980s, offers training for one of most widely recognized English teaching certificates: the Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA). Our participants range in age and experiences - some are university graduates, some are adults looking for a career change. Additionally, you do not need to be a native English speaker to take this course (though, you must have strong writing and spoken skills)!

Participants will learn the fundamentals for teaching English to adults. The topics of the course are as follows: Language Awareness, Learning and Teaching, Principles and Practical Realities (of planning for effective teaching), Classroom Management, Resources and Materials, and Professional Development.
