CELTA Course and Volunteering Program in the Galapagos Islands
- Ecuador
- Galapagos
About Program
Each CELTA course runs for 4 weeks from Monday to Friday, 10:30am to 7:30pm. There are a total of 140 contact hours in each course (i.e. time spent in the classroom learning, engaging in teaching practice, or participating in teaching activities). Teaching Practice with real students is from 4.30pm to 6.30pm each weeknight, with each candidate teaching for a total of 6 hours.
There is a broad variety of volunteer options in Santa Cruz, so a lot depends on what you would like to do and what your time commitment is. We can be flexible regarding the various positions, so you don´t need to commit to the exact placement before you come to the islands. We can finalize the schedule and classes during your final few weeks in the CELTA course, once you have a better idea of what life is like on the islands.
