MEI Academy is a Ministry-inspected Ontario private high school, founded in 1997, voted Best 2025 High School Provider by the Go Overseas community (our fourth Community Choice Award since 2018). Students earn Ontario Secondary School Diploma credits abroad, on real transcripts that transfer to their home schools and university applications.
Admission requires an 80% minimum average, references, and an interview. Our 9:1 student-to-staff ratio means every student has a mentor on the ground. We are not a gap year program — students earn credit during their high school years and go straight on to university, often with admission already in hand.
Programs range from 4-week Summer credits to a full Big Year combining a fall semester in Europe and a spring semester in Asia. Up to $10,000 in scholarships available with a one-business-day pre-assessment.
Participating in an educational travel experience abroad during this pivotal time in a young adult’s life is often one of the most impactful moments they will have. Travel while studying profoundly shifts a student’s perspective, expanding their worldview and shaping how they approach learning. These experiences stay with them, enriching their personal growth as they continue on their academic journey. Our program offers students a unique and immersive experiential learning opportunity. Classes occur throughout the day, wherever the experience takes place—whether at historical sites, museums, parks, or during excursions—making meaningful connections with the surroundings. We cover all required curriculum components, tailoring them to directly link with the travel experience.
