Tara specializes in the cross-cultural preparation and adjustment of international students studying abroad. Central to her work is the advancement of research in the dynamics of international higher education social sciences with emphasis on credit-based university coursework available to prospective students for pre-departure academic and cross-cultural preparation. Dr. Madden-Dent works with the premise that early cultural knowledge and intercultural skill development help prepare international students to be global citizens able to navigate within diverse environments, succeed in unfamiliar higher education systems, and compete in today’s 21st-century workforce.
