About Program
Based within the beautiful Bifengxia mountain range of Chengdu, China the Panda Volunteer Experience has a long-term aim of educating people on why these magnificent ‘yin-yang bears’ need the help of generous volunteers.
Beginning its venture in a different location, many residents of the Hetaoping Panda Reserve had to be relocated to another site, after an earthquake destroyed their original home. Since the move, the reserve has flourished and its panda population has more than doubled, with 40 of the bears now residing in Bifengxia.
As a volunteer, you will help to maintain the giant panda's homes at the sanctuary, care for these adorable bears, and occasionally, volunteers are asked to help conduct scientific research investigating how we can aid their conservation further.
