About Program

ICON Global is a multi-dimensional cultural exchange volunteering program to promote global understanding, global citizenship education, and international relation. An ICON Global volunteer undergoes intensive leadership and community development training and develops a community project in collaboration with regional local volunteers in Nigeria.

ICON trains, mentors, and guides international volunteers to independently identify a problem, create solutions, and take baby steps to implementation and sustainability. At the completion of a community project, volunteers are awarded a certificate and a portfolio that highlights their community projects in Nigeria.

We promote and implement the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 1,2,4,5,10, and 17, to promote inclusion and development for underrepresented communities, advocacy for quality education for girls, eradication of poverty in rural communities, art and culture, and women and youth empowerment.
