About Program

Have you ever dreamt of working with Turtles on a remote island in the Indian Ocean? If so, this is your chance! Aride Island Special Reserve is home to two species of nesting turtle, Green and Hawksbill, during the peak season we can have over 100 interactions. We are looking for two dedicated volunteers this season, to help monitor these amazing species. Your duties will include; Daily beach patrols, recording turtle nesting attempts, tagging and measuring turtles, monitoring hatching success in nests, data collection/entry and general helping around the island. Full training will be given on the island. Previous experience with turtles would be preferred but is not necessary.
