About Program
This volunteer program is based at Seed Junior School, a community-based school and childcare center run by Kassanda Children’s Aid in rural Uganda. Volunteers support vulnerable and orphaned children, including those affected by HIV/AIDS, in a safe learning environment focused on education, care, and development. Volunteers assist local teachers with classroom support, basic English, reading, numeracy, and creative activities such as games, music, and arts. A typical day includes helping in lessons, supporting schoolwork, organizing activities, and mentoring children.
Volunteers may also take part in community outreach, including home visits, youth mentorship, and child welfare awareness programs. Optional church and ministry activities are available through Passion for Christ Community Church Kassanda. Accommodation is provided in the local community with three meals per day. Volunteers receive orientation, supervision, and ongoing support from local staff.
