Review

If waking up to Go-Away bird calls and distant lion roars, then to be able to go on safari every day while conducting research projects, followed by nightly fires and with excursions to interact and work with the local population, then this is the program for you. Every day is a new adventure that you can only read about in books. If you dreamed of going to Africa, Botswana is the perfect country for it; the animal population there is not matched and the two locations are so different which makes the experience that much more exciting. This program is something I could have only dreamed of doing. In a short 8 weeks, I was able to learn so much about wildlife, research and management strategies, as well as make connections that will last a life time. It is a lot of work that is done each day, but you know it is going to something important and you do get lots of free time to hang with the other program members. The lodging is beautiful- don't worry you don't have to sleep on the dirt floor. Wildlife ACT coordinators are very invested in their work and you get to work right along side them with whatever they need to do that day. You will learn to conduct transects, learn about tracking, predator IDing, animal behavior, and so much more.
