England from the student perspective

So far, my experiences in being a student in England, have been pretty different from what I imagined. There are some things I am so glad I did, and other thats I wish I would have. So, here are some things I feel important for an incoming student to know:
1. I came two weeks early so that I could be a part of the international student orientation. I can't explain how happy I am that I did that. I have met students from all over the world, and it is nice to meet other people who are coming from very far away as well. Also, these people became my best friends here, and the orientation had value to it, such as learning the laws of England, signing up for a doctor, learning the town, and help getting a cell phone.
2. For some reason I did not get all of the paper work I should have, so I was pretty lost for the first week. Make sure you get some welcome information mail to you before hand that has information about your course. If not it can be pretty frustrating.
3. I am living in the residence halls. I'm really glad I did this because of its location to my classes, and that I met a ton of people. However the down side is that, well, it's a college dorm and people are not always clean, or quiet.
4. The most frustrating thing that I have dealt with is that I have been put in with all the freshman, taking freshman courses. This may be a personal thing, but as a senior at my University, it was tough adjusting to being at the bottom again, and not being as respected as an artist.
5. The University is near a beautiful beach, and the town is great, but it's pretty expensive to get to London, and a long bus ride. So a fair warning to students wanting to travel a lot, or even just go to London a lot, it's not a quick trip, and you might need to save up a bit before so.
6. The courses are AMAZING, I can only personally speak for Digital Media, but I can't help but be excited for all my classes and what I am doing. The course leaders are nice and everyone is helpful. So if you are looking for good courses, this is where you want to be.
