Turn South Africa into your classroom

I really wanted to study abroad in Africa and found a program offered during the summer through UCLA. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life! Professor William Worger is a wealth of knowledge and makes his lessons engaging and interactive. While in Cape Town, we learned about Robben Island (the island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned) and then visited the site in the afternoon. The unique part of this program is that you actually visit several cities over the course of the program. My journey started in Cape Town and ended in Johannesburg with my most memorable stop being a few days at a game reserve (a nice break from studying!). I highly recommend this program to anyone who wants to see Africa, learn about its incredible history and meet amazing people (your fellow students and the locals).
