Amazing Spanish Immersion

I loved my time abroad in the fall with the SIGE program, primarily because they made it possible for us (and pushed us to) have a true immersion experience while still being absolutely supportive and available. SIGE's assignment for a homestay is what really made my experience unique and successful as a learning experience, as I lived in a home where no English was spoken and in which I adapted to the customs of that family and household. The way the assignment worked also gave me tons of freedom and independence in maneuvering university, exploring the city, and meeting people, which is key to the abroad experience. However, during the time, I never felt as if I was alone or without support - in fact, I felt overwhelmingly comfortable and supported and had many fun experiences to boot with my program members and directors. If you want to take advantage of really immersing yourself in Spanish culture in a way that is enjoyable and unique, I recommend SIGE!
