The Hebrew Ulpan is intensive in both time & content covered, but is worth it in the end.
The course was fast-paced, but was easy to keep up with if one dedicates the time and effort to do so. The professors had high expectations for students, but were very patient and willing to slow down to explain something, or stay after class to provide extra help. The class sizes were small (no more than 15 students,) so it was easy to build relationships with professors and get the help and practice necessary to confidently build Hebrew skills.
The social activities and tours of different sites across Israel were an excellent addition to the program, providing opportunities to have fun and easily get out and see different parts of Israel with an organized tour, and sometime practice Hebrew. During the Ulpan, we were able to travel to places such as Tel Aviv, Nazareth & the Galilee, Akko, and others. They were fun outings that allowed us to also see and understand Israel more.
By the end of the Hebrew Ulpan program, I was able to use Hebrew to conduct basic conversations and tasks in Hebrew, and understand what was going on when venturing around Israel.
