The AGBU Musical Armenia Program opened my eyes to Armenia's incredible people, landscapes, culture and music. This was my first time visiting Yerevan, and all I can say it was too short! I can't believe all the things there are to see and do, and the amazing opportunities, which MAP gave me a taste of, there are for professional musicians.

I spent three weeks at the AGBU dorms with other Armenian diaspora and non-Armenian youth participating in AGBU's various summer programs. The rooms were clean and spacious, had AC, same-day laundry service, breakfast, wifi... anything you'd need. I worked and studied with some of the best musicians Armenia has to offer, attended lectures on the history of Armenian music (the lectures included a simultaneous translator for those of us who don't speak Armenian or Russian!), got to perform and jam with the local musicians, and of course all the cultural tourism! We got to visit so many museums, attend numerous concerts and take day trips. Gyumri was definitely a highlight!

I would recommend this program to anyone who has a passion for music and is interested in deepening their knowledge on Armenian music and culture - whether you're Armenian or not!

Would you recommend this program?
Yes, I would
