The older I’ve gotten, the more I realize that life is crazy in the very best way. Spending the fall of my junior year studying abroad in Shanghai certainly affirmed that for me. CAPA facilitated a program that exceled at balancing academics with travel. Throughout the course of a fifteen-week term I got to take two history-based classes, a philosophy course, and a language course that certainly went deeper into Chinese culture more than any course I could have taken at my home school would have. Plus, I still had time to see the country itself through visiting four other cities in China. CAPA did a great job of planning tourist activities to help expand on the experiences we had seeing different cities. I had no idea what to expect heading into a semester abroad, but I left my time in Shanghai pleasantly surprised by the experience as a whole for exploring as much of the country and culture as possible in such a short period of time. Though I decided to study abroad mainly to take some time away from my home campus, I ended excited to go see even more of the world! I encourage anyone thinking about going to reach out to CAPA for more information.
