Spanish in Merida

I signed up for the Spanish and culture programme as I really wanted to improve my Spanish and I left feeling much more confident. My homestay family were great and really helped me to improve.
We did lots of different activities in our classes and we also got to practice when we went shopping and stuff too. I think the most difficult thing for me was feeling nervous as I didnt want to make mistakes but we were encouraged to try and I found I could communicate quite well.
It was fun trying Yucatecan food and we had tacos quite a few times at the school which was good! I felt supported during my stay and it didn't matter that I travelled alone.
It was also cool to explore on the additional activity days that were included, we had a tour of the centre of Merida and also went to a cenote with some Mayan ruins too.
