an experience of a lifetime

Last summer I had the amazing opportunity to spend a full week in the Dominican Republic with this program.
During my stay I was able to make friends from all over the world while observing various surgeries up close and even learning some medical techniques (ie suturing on pig feet and learning to cast). The mentors at the hospital always explained the procedures to us and constantly checked on our well beings (Inside the hospital was humid and hot so they would make sure we have water or that weren't not feeling ill from watching all the surgeries)
Aside from the medical aspect of the program, the staff makes sure that the students can still enjoy the beaches of the DR and provides various excursions for us to participate in. My favorite was the horse riding excursion where we were able to swim in an underground cave at the end! There is also a cruise at the beginning where we can go swimming in the ocean with the fish!
All the Global Pre med staffers were kind, welcoming and extremely helpful throughout the whole process
you just gotta experience it for yourself to know how life changing this program is :)

ALSO THE FOOD IS GOOD SO DONT WORRY :) and theres a local grocery store called JUMBO that you can go to to buy snacks and other goodies.
