I worked with A Tree That Grows to design a project to build leadership skills for women entrepreneurs living with a disability in Tanzania. Before I went to Tanzania I worked with the community partner to learn about the challenges & design the project. This was an awesome opportunity to get to know Tanzania before I traveled.

When I was in Tanzania I felt like I was with family! It’s clear they have deep connections as I never felt unsafe & everything was taken care of. They organize amazing weekend trips and have a seriously cool volunteer retreat where you can pop in to relax, learn Kiswahili & explore the culture. I got to personalize everything, which was great, and present the project to leaders in the field of disability activism in Tanzania. I'm excited to now get into the alumni network to keep in contact with partners and see the impact of the project over the long run!
