GAP YEAR

the best weeks of my life. I came to learn about journalism, but what I found in gap year was a support system, great friends and so much knowledge that goes way beyond only journalism. we were taught by new york times journalists which helped me grow so much as a writer. my favorite section study was culture, in which I wrote an article about DACA and the Dreamers program, a topic which touched me deeply as a German-Mexican. A highlight was going to the supreme court of new york and interviewing a former dreamer who became an american citizen that day!
living and experiencing new york this way was a dream come true.
