Unique sustainable volunteer experience

If you want to volunteer in Tanzania, I highly recommend to chose Shamiri Volunteer. It offers you good preparation before your departure, accompaniment during your stay and even follow up seminars. Shamiri provides accommodation in Mwanza and food during the week. It cooperates with different NGOs and projects. You can choose the volunteer position of your liking. I chose to volunteer with the NGO Waridi La Matumaini. It works with and for marginalised children and their families. My tasks as a volunteer were tutoring the children and helping them with their homework. Additionally, offering English classes for the children and their parents. I could also realise my own projects and ideas for example a weekend excursion with the kids to a playground. I go insights to the work of an NGO, helped with fundraising and cooperated with their partner NGO in Germany. The work at Waridi La Matumaini is sustainable, since even after your return you will be able to support the NGO through volunteering at the German NGO, which is doing a lot of fundraising work.
