the best experience of my life

My time in Taricaya, my experience has changed me so much, I finished my volunteer work three months ago and have returned home. Now I am moving forward towards my new dream, which was made possible by my experiences there and the people I met.

∙ Very friendly and knowledgeable staff
∙ Meet volunteers from all over the world and veterinary students from all over South America. I am particularly impressed by the strong friendships with Spanish-speaking South American students. I don't speak the language at all, but the experience transcended language barriers.
∙ Feel nature by swimming in the Amazon River, doing research in the jungle, exploring the Amazon jungle at night and the day, and mountain biking in the jungle.
∙ Away from the daily conveniences of life, I realize how wasteful our bad life behaviors are and how they are harming the planet. When it comes to the smartphone, I couldn’t use it there, but I love it. I was released from the stress of it. I felt how much we are addicted to it in a daily life.
∙ The program also provides an opportunity to learn about the differences between the problems faced by industrialized and developing countries. I live in a developed country, Japan, but I think that the problems of developing countries are no stranger to us and that everyone living on the planet should face these problems.
