One Week In Costa Rica

Review
As a current medical student in New York, I could only spend a week in Costa Rica. When I first applied, I assumed that by the end of the program, I would be ready to head home. I had never stayed with a host family abroad or traveled internationally on my own before, so along with excitement, there was also a bit of worry. However, those fears disappeared the moment I arrived, met the local team, my host mother, and saw my volunteer site. I quickly fell in love with Costa Rica's culture, nature, and people in just seven days. Even though my stay was brief, I truly believe I made a positive impact and I wish I could have stayed longer. As someone who is passionate about social justice and helping others, this program felt like a dream come true, and I hope to return one day.
