Studying Chinese with Mandarin Zone

We spent two weeks with Mandarin Zone in April 2025.

My three children, aged 10, 12, and 15, have basic Chinese proficiency and shared two tutors between them. They spent mornings having individual tuition. In the afternoons, we had either visits to significant places with a tutor explaining to us (with the option to speak and listen in Mandarin) or fun activities like mahjong and moon cake making.
I had a couple of one-on-one tuition sessions as well.

My mother joined us for some of the afternoon excursions, and the Mandarin Zone was very good at adjusting for her needs. Margaret was excellent at assessing our needs and developing a programme for us. The tutors were fun and the children really enjoyed learning with them. Dennis was incredibly responsive and patient in answering our numerous questions when we were organising this trip.

We live in Australia, and he suggested accommodation options as well. While in Beijing, Margaret and Dennis continued to be incredibly helpful and accommodating to our needs and were very kind to us. They were generous in sharing their knowledge of Beijing and of China.

We all had a wonderful experience, and the children surprised themselves at how much they enjoyed their time building upon their Chinese.
